About the Camp: The USF MultiMedia Summer Camp is a one week technology camp where students will be led through intensive creative experiences with digital media, including music, video, image editing and web page development. Through hands-on, creative activities, students will learn a variety of artistic concepts and put them into action designing their own multimedia pieces. During the camp students will be introduced to GarageBand, iMovie, iPhoto, iWeb, iDVD and Keynote and they will be led through a series of sequential activities where they will compose original music, shoot and edit their own videos, and combine the two to create music videos. Camp Activities: USF professors and graduate students will lead camp students through two sessions each day. Mornings will be devoted to learning about various artistic elements and concepts along with hands-on software tutorials. During the afternoon sessions students will have time to experiment and create on their own and in small groups. Camp activities will conclude each day with a show-and-tell style presentation of student work. Camp times will be 9:00am until 2:30pm. Camp Products: Students at each camp will produce their own original music and digital videos. Final projects will be shared through student created podcasts, web pages and DVD’s. Facilities: All Camp activities will take place within the College of Visual and Performing Arts on the Tampa campus of the University of South Florida. David A. Williams, Associate Director of the School of Music, will be the camp director, and will teach at the camps, assisted by School of Music graduate students. Total Cost: $250 per student for the week. Price includes lunch and snacks each day. Computers, all software, music keyboards and video cameras will be supplied. Students will be asked to bring a digital still camera on select days. Registration: Complete the Registration/Payment Form. REGISTRATION DEADLINE is Monday, July 6, 2009, however students will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis and space is limited. A separate Release and Waiver of Liability Agreement must be submitted no later than the first day of camp. |
