About the School
Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival
In the summer of 2019, the Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival enters its 7th season of music instruction, recitals, and holistic learning. Hosted by the USF School of Music, the festival attracts student pianists from around the country and the globe. This year’s nearly 200 auditioning pianists represented 164 schools and 17 countries.

The Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival brings talented and experienced faculty to its student pianists. This year’s distinguished Legacy guest artists include Jerome Lowenthal, Ursula Oppens, Lydia Artymiw, and Ann Schein. These artists offer students intense private study, superb daily masterclasses, unparalleled study sessions, and thrilling concerts.

Guests are invited to join the festival for its events that are free and open to the public, however, a small donation is suggested. You can find festival participants performing in venues around Tampa Bay as part of the festival’s Ambassador Concert Series. The USF School of Music also hosts other concerts, such as the 2 Piano 8 Hands Extravaganza and the Student Showcase Concert & Reception.
