In an economic climate where arts education funding is being cut across the board, we strive to transform our passion for music into something that will promote the continuation of the musical arts in the Tampa Bay area for generations to come. The Clarion Society is a creative way to raise funds for the Grace Allen Clarion Society Scholarship which provides critical support to help students pay their tuition, buy books and music, and other essential educational expenses.
In exchange for an annual fee and any additional personal gifts to the scholarship fund, members get to experience live music, performed by the best USF musicians and guest artists. These evenings of musical soirées are exciting opportunities to meet USF’s talented music faculty and student musicians, and to hear them premiere new works or perform classical masterpieces. Depending on the theme of the soirée Clarion Society members enjoy violin and piano, a capella men’s chorus, opera arias, chamber music, classical masterpieces, occasional contemporary and jazz salutes, in the comfort of a relaxing environment while celebrating with beverages, hors d’oevres, and camaraderie.
To draw together those interested in music and the University of South Florida.
To support the USF School of Music in achievement of its goals.
To provide scholarships to music students and to support the Clarion Society Teacher of the Year award.
To contribute to the musical insights and interests of its members.
