John Kehayas

John Kehayas is in his tenth year as bassoon instructor at USF. He is a graduate of The Juilliard School, where he was awarded The Naumburg Foundation Scholarship for excellence in music performance. As bassoon/contrabassoonist of The Florida Orchestra, Mr. Kehayas has completed his eleventh season. He has concertized throughout Japan, China, Hong Kong, as well as Europe and the United States. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, and was an inaugural member of the New World Symphony under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. Recently Mr. Kehayas was invited to Princeton University to premier and record works of new American music. John Kehayas appears on CRI, New World, and Azica Records labels. He has performed and coached extensively as a faculty member of the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival in Brunswick, Maine
