Summer Band Camp at USF
Summer Band Camp
July 9-14, 2017
The USF Summer Band Camp provides woodwind, brass, and percussion students with experiences that will allow them to expand their musicianship at the individual and ensemble levels. Our High School and Middle School camps are run simultaneously and give musicians a challenging, positive learning environment based upon their current musical development. Eligible campers include those entering grades 7-12 in the Fall of 2017, and all participants must have had at least one year of experience in a Middle School or High School band program.
Throughout the week campers will be presented with opportunities including Chamber Ensembles, Master Classes, Electives, Full Wind-Band Performances, Social Activities and much more. High School campers will have their choice of Composition, Concert Band Conducting, Guitar, Jazz Improvisation, Keyboard, Marching Band & Drum Major Leadership/Score Study, and Music Theory as an elective. Middle School campers will have their choice of Concert Band Conducting, Guitar, Jazz Improvisation, Keyboard, and Music Theory as an elective. Participants will perform in two ensemble settings throughout the week with groups featured on both our Thursday and Friday concerts.
Whether entering High School or preparing for college, our professional instructors and certified staff can assist young musicians in taking their musical abilities to the next level. If you need further assistance or have additional questions, please contact us via email at the address on the top left of this page. Camp enrollment begins January 18, 2017, and we hope to have you join us this summer!
