About Strings at USF
The string area is exclusive - every student admitted to the program studies directly with the major professor. The string area at USF is as vibrant as it is unique. Students of all studios participate not only in studio lessons and master classes, but also collaborate in a number of ways. While performance with the USF Symphony Orchestra is the mainstay of every young artist's college experience, every string player also has a chance to participate in a thriving string/piano chamber music program, in concert collaboration with gifted USF composition majors, in ongoing master class situations featuring internationally regarded guest artists, in USF's own Rutenberg Chamber Music Festival, and in special projects within and between studios. Some of these projects include field trips to present concerts at academic institutions up and down the Eastern seaboard, and to attend historic concert events at Carnegie Hall in New York City and at Symphony Hall in Boston. Prospective students are encouraged to contact string faculty to arrange a one-day visit to the School of Music during the fall. Strings Studio Faculty
